Oh, so close

I had high hopes for our games on Wednesday night. We had a ringer filling in for us. Jason. Big guy with big blocks and hard hits. Add that to Steve, Jenna, Ray, and Tom's hits and blocks and surely we could get three wins out of it.
Well, sadly I must report that we lost 2 out of 3. Very close games.
We analyzed our playing and the best we could figure out was that our downfall was that we kept stepping in front of each other and messing up the digs.
Any suggestions?

On a fun note, for our team huddle before the third game I suggested we say Setters are beautiful. Ray is such a great captain that he went along with it! Of course, he and Tom are also setters so they felt just as encouraged as  I did.

I got some slack from Steve. I believe there was a comment about being old. He was scared that I would withhold his sets from him. But being the gracious person that I am I chose to forgive his silly comment about my age. He was just joshin' me. Right!?!

Trying out a podcast

Today in Techie school, we worked on recording and editing a podcast.
We are working in a room full of people and have a lot of background noise.
I'm sure if I were working in the quiet of my own office, it would sound a lot better.
But for the sake of learning, I'm going to post it anyway.

Hmmm,,,,maybe I won't post a podcast. I'm not sure where to add it at.

How about a video instead...

adding photos within the text

I figured out how to add a slide show in the side bar.
But now I would like to figure out how to add the photo among the text.

An important step in downloading photos among the text is the placement of your cursor when you begin the process.

My bad

If you sat back and listened to the volleyball games going on at Pearce, you would think these were the worst players.
We have a habit of announcing our mistakes with the famous words
My bad.
Sometimes it is said in conjunction with a hanging head or a wave to the team.
For those who are more confident in their volleyball mistakes, just say it and move on.
One of the interesting things about this well heard phrase is that many times, those words are uttered, even if it wasn't their mistake. They can be used as encouragement to your fellow teammates to help take the blame off of them.
I'm sure there are psycologists who could do a thesis paper on the insights of why we feel compelled to annouce our mistakes or take the blame for our teammates.
